Cardiac muscle and cardiac valves

Cardiac muscle and cardiac valves

MRI imaging of the heart primarily assesses the function of the cardiac muscle and valves. Your doctor will have valuable insight into the pumping action of your heart and will be able to confirm if the valves are functioning correctly.

Detailed view

After a general overview, more detailed MRI are taken to analyse all the heart functions. Small disturbances in the movement of the heart wall indicate circulatory disorders or damage that may have already occurred.

MRI imaging of the heart takes approximately 20 minutes. The only thing you have to do during the examination is to hold your breath for a short while!
