Your Check-Up

Upon arrival we will take you to your room where you will get changed.

We will perform extensive blood and urine analysis in order to check the most important parameters. Over 40 different tests are measured on the blood sample, including a full cholesterol profile, liver tests, kidney tests and full blood count.

A one-to-one consultation with our Medical Director will give us a detailed background on your medical history. He will ask you about any past or current medical conditions so that we can establish your particular concerns.

This highly innovative technology provides extremely detailed images of the heart, blood vessels and brain. This x-ray free, painless imaging takes around 80 minutes.

An MRI colonoscopy can detect colonic tumours and other abnormalities in the bowel in their early stages. 90% of cancers develop from polyps in the colon and if detected, they can usually be easily removed.

ECG is used in diagnosing some heart abnormalities and exercise ECG can help to show if there is a possibility of significant coronary artery disease. The spirometry test is used to determine lung function and to detect lung disease.

The carotid arteries, aorta (largest blood vessel in the body), abdominal organs, the prostate (in men) and the womb and ovaries (in women) are examined with an ultrasound machine to screen for early problems.

Our Radiologist will take you on a virtual tour on the computer through the hundreds of images from your MRI scan. These three dimensional images including a video of your beating heart, will be explained to you in detail.

Our experienced doctors will interpret all examination results during your visit to the clinic. Any further tests or treatment will be arranged quickly and conveniently thanks to our links with a large network of specialists.

A results pack including a written report and a DVD of all your MRI images will be sent out in ten working days.

You do not need to bring anything with you to your Preventicum Check-Up, as we will provide you with everything you will need. Prior to your appointment you will receive an information pack including forms which you will need to complete and return to us. These will give our doctors important details on your medical history and enable them to start planning your Check-Up. If you have documents regarding medical visits within the past two years, it would be advantageous to bring these along. Similarly, if you have any current conditions, please let us know when you book your appointment.

During the MRI exam, you may not wear any pieces of clothing that contain metallic elements. We will provide you with track-suit bottoms and a t-shirt which you can wear during your entire stay with us. In your room you will have the opportunity to change clothes and leave valuables in a safe.

You may be required to use a treadmill for your cardiac tests so please bring appropriate footwear.
