Background
Our client attended their first assessment on the recommendation of their daughter.
Clinical findings
Following their MRI scans, our Consultant Radiologist identified a large mass in their liver and our Preventicum Doctor made an urgent referral to a leading Hepatologist. Further investigations revealed a rare parasitic infection that had been growing unnoticed for over 10 years. This detection was crucial, “the timely diagnosis most certainly saved my life.”
Next steps
Following specialist management and complex liver surgery, our client has now fully recovered and continues to do well. Our client is “eternally grateful” to the Preventicum team for the assessment which led to a life-saving diagnosis and treatment. We are delighted that our client remains fit and well and is working to raise awareness for the diagnosis of Hydatid disease in the UK.
