Innovative cardiac health
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the most preventable causes of serious illness and early death, yet it often goes undetected in people who feel entirely well. For many of our clients, their Preventicum assessment is the first time anyone has looked closely enough to find it.
In this article, we review some of our significant cardiac findings from last year.
One in three of our clients had a higher heart age than their chronological age
In 2025, 45% of our male clients and 20% of our female clients presented with a heart age higher than their chronological age as measured by their QRISK®3 score which indicates a ten-year risk of heart attack or stroke. Nearly a third of all clients were found to have an above-average risk of developing cardiovascular disease within the next decade. 10% of clients had scores above the threshold used to support conversations about starting cholesterol-lowering medication.
What your annual Preventicum assessment can detect
Our Optimal Assessment offers a unique, same-day view of your cardiovascular and cardiometabolic health. In one streamlined visit, you undergo advanced cardiac testing including Oxygenation-Sensitive Cardiac MRI, resting ECG and a stress echocardiogram with blood pressure measurements, providing a clear picture of how your heart performs at rest and under exertion.

Your specialist blood panels add powerful insight into inherited and inflammatory risks with advanced markers such as full cholesterol profiling, ApoA/B ratio, Lipoprotein(a) and the PLAC test. Carotid dopplers and a LiverMultiScan further identify early vascular and metabolic changes associated with heart attack, stroke and long-term cognitive health.
Your Preventicum Doctor brings everything together, combining your results within the consultation and any previous assessments to create a personalised, clinically informed risk profile and prevention plan.

Our client returned for their second Preventicum assessment where our Cardiac Physiologists identified myocardial ischaemia, meaning his heart was not receiving sufficient oxygen during physical activity. A same-day referral to a trusted Consultant Cardiologist was arranged and he subsequently underwent a quadruple coronary artery bypass. He has since made an excellent recovery and returned to regular exercise. Read more of our client stories here.
Why returning matters
Our data shows that clients who attend annual assessments experience measurable improvements over time, including reductions in systolic blood pressure and healthier cholesterol profiles. Tracking these markers year on year allows us to identify subtle changes early, supporting timely and personalised recommendations. Monitoring your health in this way, alongside consistent lifestyle improvements, offers a depth of insight that a single assessment cannot match.
